Subject: [WSBARP] Dog attack and loss

Dear List Mates:
I realize this is slightly off the subject matter, but a client has called relating an incident in a leash law community where a dog off leash attacked and ultimately killed her dog who was on a leash. Are any of you aware of a lawyer who specializes in taking the attack dog’s owner to task on this issue. The vet bills alone in trying to save the beloved pet were in excess of $10,000, so there are specials. There seems to be a possible claim for a tort for the owner’s witnessing the fight and suffering the loss too. Is this a subject that a homeowner’s policy would cover? Your referrals are much appreciated and will all be passed along to the client. Thank you.

Yours Truly,

Kerry A. Richards, Attorney
