[WSBARP] Abandonment of newly submerged lands

Seems the client should be able to petition the County to reduce the property taxes. I had one client with a strip parcel that was completely used as a road for another development. We were able to establish that the parcel had zero development potential and got the taxes reduced to $10 a year. Another client had a cabin on a lot that the County thought had water rights and valued the parcel at $90k. After challenging the valuation and showing there was no developed water for the parcel, the County reduced its valuation to only $15k.

Subject: [WSBARP] Abandonment of newly submerged lands

Has anyone ever dealt with abandonment or relinquishment of lands that have become submerged over time? The client would like to stop paying property tax on property which is now wholly underwater. Any thoughts will be appreciated. An up and coming global warming issue?

Thanks,
