[WSBARP] DoT Question

See Tesdahl v. Collins, 2 Wn.2d 76, 97 P.2d 649 (1939).  A mortgage (or deed of trust) must secure an underlying obligation that can be identified, quantified and enforced, otherwise it is invalid.

A deed of trust has been recorded on a property, but it is without a written promissory note--- how can the creditor use the DoT lien against the debtor if and when a default occurs?
