Ralph: I have been through this twice - 1 in King and 1 in Pierce Counties.
Although exempt, property tax people at the treasurer's office do not
understand transfers of form over substance. I called and talked them
through it successively both times before I recorded the transfer.

Subject: [WSBARP] property tax deferral after transfer to RLT
Listmates
Client has a senior citizen deferral on her property taxes. She is
transferring her home to her sole RLT fbo herself (with a daughter as the
trustee). I looked at the statute and it doesn't seem to address whether
she will be able to continue the deferral after the transfer to the RLT or
it addresses other terminating events. Any thoughts on this, please.
