I have attached an outline of instructions regarding chattel liens that will hopefully assist you, or at least get you started in the right direction. I believe it is up to date, but be sure to check as this was something from a while back.

Listserv Mates:  I have an auto mechanic client that has had customers deliver cars to him for repairs over the years but then, for whatever reason, abandoned the cars.  Procrastination has set in and he now has over 50 cars sitting in his back lot rotting.  I am just getting into the law regarding auto repair and possessory liens but was hoping someone might have put together a step-by-step "how-to" for a garage to sell the cars to satisfy the liens?  Most materials I have found take a "consumer" point of view but not the point of view of the mechanic.  Thanks.
