At the time you file your petition, prepare a motion and order to show cause why the writ should not issue, and then present it at exparte during their regular hearing times in Pierce County (which I believe are most days) and obtain an order to show cause setting the show cause hearing for a specific time, date, and assigned judge.

Subject: [WSBARP] Writ of Mandamus Procedure in Pierce County

I am about to petition for a writ in Pierce County. Since I haven't been down there in about eight years, I'm wondering if anyone can give me some direction as to what to do and where to go?

Thanks.
