A strong focus on ethics characterizes the annual fall real estate program
designed by the WSBA Real Property, Probate and Trust Section. Join us to
explore, with leading practitioners and judges, the significant ethics
component to real property transactions, especially when other practice
areas are involved. Topics include:

   - Distressed home conveyance: Avoid pitfalls and traps under the
Distressed Property Conveyance Act for investors and others looking to
acquire homes in danger of foreclosure.
   - Family law/real property cross-over: What does it take to ensure that
property is properly conveyed pursuant to family law adjudications?
   - Marijuana and ethics: What you need to know now.
   - Foreclosures and lockouts: a panel including lead plaintiffs’ counsel
assesses the impact on Washington borrowers and lenders of the Washington
Supreme Court’s July 2016 opinion in *Jordan v. Nationstar Mortgage, LLC*.

   - Judges panel: guidance from the bench on ethics issues in real
   property practice.

Included in this seminar is an opportunity exclusive to new attorneys! The
RPPT Section is offering new lawyers the opportunity to attend a mentorship
luncheon connecting them to experienced practitioners in the practice of
Real Property Law. Lunch is included in the new lawyer tuition and will
provide new lawyers with an opportunity to ask questions, discuss
challenges, and learn tips from seasoned attorneys.
