[WSBARP] off topic: request for referral to expert re Human Rights Commission

Dear Colleagues,

 

Clients live in California and periodically rent out their home in Port
Angeles (a la AirBnB) but continue to stay in this home when they are in
town back in Port Angeles.

They have a daughter with hyper-sensitivity to pet dander and thus their
rental manager was instructed to not rent to any guest/tenant with pets.

Evidently, a person with a service dog sought to rent the house and was
denied by the property manager.

My clients have received a “complaint” from the state Human Rights
Commission.

I have not handled such a matter and am looking for a referral to
experienced counsel (or a quick cite to an exception which permits refusal
to accommodate a person with a service dog based upon a medical condition of
the proprietor).
