List,

Client is a landlord with a month-to-month lease. Lease specifically provides for 30 days notice of termination. Client wants to terminate the lease so it can list the property for sale. Tenant claims that she is entitled to 60 days notice of termination if the landlord’s motive for termination is to sell the property. Has anyone heard of this? The property is in Renton. The tenant was not in possession at the time of a foreclosure sale so RCW 61.24.146 does not apply.

Thank you for any responses.
