I’ve got a statement for a copier lease which shows the lessor is charging
sales tax on personal property tax (as well as on a tax servicing fee).
That seems wrong and I’m curious whether it’s permissible.  The amount at
issue is far too small to bother with but I would imagine they’re charging
this on all of their leases so it might add up to a slightly taller hill
of beans.  If there’s a basis for attorneys fees and/or a class action it
might be worth somebody’s while.  Thoughts?
