– I have had that happen in the past and had to reopen the Estate. King County is not as quick to do that but Pierce County is also one county that is serious about filing annual reports and set mandatory hearings in every open probate case.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">I generally do if I think it’s going to be open a lot longer than one year. But I don’t set it for hearing; I just file it. It's possible to get an order approving the various activities described in the report, but for routine probates
I think that is just wasted expense.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">If it is being litigated or otherwise highly contentious and the PR has to do something that is discretionary and potentially significant, I sometimes get an order for instructions from the court – but those are always special interim reports,
basically filed as a motion requesting an order of approval, rather than an annual report.<o:p></o:p></p>
