<p class="MsoNormal">I wonder if anyone else has had trouble obtaining an EIN online. It happened to me once last summer (first time) when I received an error code instead of the EIN. My PR finally received the EIN in the mail after I called and spoke to IRS
agents a number of times. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Things proceeded smoothly with a number of other EINs between then and now. December 2, I received the same error code. Made the phone call, faxed in my info, waited 10 days, called back, no luck. Tried the same sequence again, no luck.
Third time actually got my Trustee on the phone with me when my direct fax wasn’t received to provide consent for me as the third party designee to obtain the number for him, and the IRS still couldn’t find either the application recently faxed or that an
EIN had been assigned. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">I am pulling my hair out. My Trustee checked in with me today, and said he still hasn’t received the EIN in the mail. Has anyone else dealt with this or have any suggestions?

<p class="MsoNormal">I am contemplating submitting online with a different family member’s SSN to serve as Trustee, and then changing it back to the Trustee.
