<div dir="ltr">This is no way for our federal judicial system to treat Americans (or their public institutions and servants) in the DAYS preceding such a deadline. We've invented three-judge panels; we could -- imagine! -- skip motions panels in favor of merits
panels; empower the circuit justice to decide and make his/her stay decision final pending completion of the circuit court appeal. (Those ideas took me all of 17 seconds to conjure up just now!)</div>
