<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:16.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">I am nearing my fiftieth year of practice, and I used to complain that estate planners did not have much opportunity to interact with their fellow estate planners. And
then the internet and listservs arrived on the scene, and I no longer lack for company. I am active on four listservs: one Washington, one Oregon, and two national. I work primarily in Oregon, and so the Washington listserv helps to answer some of my Washington
questions. But I try whenever possible to answer questions asked by others (restraining myself whenever I am unsure of the answer), and I try to answer more than I ask. If I can find a cite to support my answer, that boosts my confidence considerably.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:16.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">As a result of the four listservs, whenever I attend a CLE program I meet people who believe that they know me, because they read my posts. Of course, they do know me,
and I often know them. It is a pleasant surprise to meet a stranger who is really no stranger at all. The whole thing is supported by a great deal of collegiality. And for that I am grateful.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
