<p class="MsoNormal">We file all of our Washington probates in Pierce County as permitted under RCW 11.96A.050(4). Did the decedent reside in Mason County? If so, you are correct that the creditor notice must be published in the county of residence. If the
decedent did not reside in Mason County, but did own property there, that would not necessitate publication in Mason County.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Is there any prohibition to commencing probate in Pierce County where the primary asset of the estate is real property located in Mason County? I realize the Notice to Creditors will need to be published in Mason County. Just looking
to be sure there isn’t any reason I can’t file in Pierce County (where there is – gasp – an electronic filing system).
