<p class="MsoNormal">I’ve been on both sides of contested hearings on this issue without anything more than the court applying a standard of reasonableness.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">No authority, but I've always treated this issue ad hoc basis. Can the PR delegate the activities necessary to deal with the house? What are the issues? If to winterize and periodic inspections, probably less expensive to hire a go-fer
to take care of it. If a rental, then hire a local real estate company to manage. If to market and sell, that can be done remotely. Same with a car: store safely? Sell? Distribute? I ask, what is the issue that cannot be delegated?<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">I've always thought a preliminary trip to oversee burial arrangements, meet the probate lawyer, etc are reasonable. But I'm wary of a PR who wants to repeatedly fly back and forth.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">I’ve been successful in getting my PR clients’ reasonable travel expenses including flights and meals approved, although not sure if I had to deal with hotels.

<p class="MsoNormal">I don’t see any reason why the court should have a problem with them unless they are obviously excessive. I just tell my clients to keep a record of everything they did during the visits (and they usually do that anyway because they are

<p class="MsoNormal">Is there a consensus on whether or not a PR’s travel expenses are reimbursable by the Estate? PR lives out of state, east coast, and has to come here to deal with property located in the state, including a house and a motor vehicle. Are
plane flights reimbursable (commercial, not first class)? Reasonable hotel expense if there’s no other place to stay? Meals?<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">I recall the rule being generally that expenses that are reasonably necessary are reimbursable, but I also recall that travel expenses is one of those gray areas at times.<o:p></o:p></p>
