I provided the agent with RCW 11.125.300, with reference to subparagraph (6), and RCW 11.125.200 with reference to subparagraph (3). Although this is one of the “BIG” banks, the local branch manager, who knew the mother, allowed the Agent, daughter, to close mother’s bank accounts without even the need to show the doctor’s letter to trigger the effectiveness of the power. The manager knew the mother was incompetent. It was a bank Vice-President, who happened to be in Sequim, one rainy day, who required the letters to get into the bank box. Obviously, now armed with the law, the daughter will seek out the bank manager.
