Client owns Hawaii condo (Maui County) through his 401(k) Plan (Vanguard). Client is in the process of selling condo when he dies.

<div class="">Named PR in Client’s Will is trying to close the sale, but is asked to provide name of successor trustee, apparently to sign the deed.</div>

<div class="">I am in the process of opening probate in Washington, but it will take a few days and the PR does not want to lose the sale. </div>

<div class="">My hope that, once appointed, the PR can speak directly to the financial institution and obtain plan information. </div>

<div class="">From what I can see online in the solo/self directed 401(k), the trustee is Vanguard, so the client would have been the "plan administrator.” Not sure why they are asking for successor trustee.</div>
