<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">He demanded a newly cert. copy of my letters from the court – had to be dated within 60 days of my request for signature. I had to deliver in person.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">I am now waiting to have approval for the signature and will need to return, for the 4<sup>th</sup> time, to actually obtain the signature. It is hard to justify 4 trips to the bank and back in my fees…<o:p></o:p></span></p>

I opened a probate recently in King County in Seattle. Client took a Certified Copy of the Letters Testamentary to the decedent’s bank – Bank of America.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The bank would not accept the certified copy because … the seal was stamped not raised.
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">I have never run into this particular speed bump and was under the impression the Clerk no longer issued Letters with raised seals.

<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Well, for future reference, the Cashier’s Section at the Clerk’s Office tells me that they are aware some banks, and he named a couple, are “butts” about this and so they keep a couple of embossers around. You can, if you specially request
it, obtain certified copies of Letters with a raised seal. Total stupidity. But the first thing I learned in law school was never argue with a bank because the bank always wins.
