<p class="MsoNormal">Those folks are “public adjusters” also colloquially known as “fire-chasers.” They aggressively target people who have experienced an insured loss, and purport to work with the person’s insurance company for a percentage of the recovery.
I would advise your client to ignore them or tell them not to contact him again. He can also report them to the insurance commissioner if they persist. The attached document from the OIC has some good advice about now not to become the victim of an insurance
scam and also how to make a fire claim with his insurer. <o:p></o:p></p>

One adjuster is Adjusters International and another Adjusters International PNW. These adjusters are not associated with Farmers and charge up to 10% for a recovery.
