No probate has been filed and the will has not been filed with the court (father died last fall.) I am sending a demand letter to stepmother requesting she provide us a copy of the will or file it with the court (citing RCW 11.20.010) so we may obtain a copy. Is there any statutory authority I can cite that requires stepmother to provide information about non-probate assets to a named beneficiary? If anyone has dealt with a similar situation, I would appreciate your input.
