There is appropriate insurance to cover the deceased defendant and injuries caused. The problem is, there was a minor child who is now living with the grandparents. They want nothing to do with the probate/estate b/c their daughter had nothing.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Is there a separate petition to appoint the GAL for the minor child when opening a probate for the deceased parent. There was a big battle over custody and the father of the child, who lost parental rights. RCW 11.88 appears to allow exception to appointment but only if I can find someone who is the legal guardian. The grandparents do not want to be involved in this probate.
