PR received a check from decedent’s bank with a note that says “misapplication reversal” and no further explanation. The amount of the check appears to be the same as the mortgage payments that have been paid by the PR.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>PR is contacting the bank to determine why the check was sent.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Has anyone received one of these checks in the context of a probate? Decedent’s affairs were a mess, including being behind on his mortgage. However, Decedent has significant equity in the home, which is currently on the market for sale.
