Brent –

          We have run into this, strange as it might seem.  After numerous tries to get cooperation, we write a final letter stating that if we don’t hear from them with arrangements to transfer the funds by xx/xx/xx date (think 30-45 days), then we will transfer the funds to the court registry.   There they are held for three years, I believe, before they are transferred to the DOR as unclaimed funds.

Greetings List Members -

I have a strange situation.  A beneficiary who is a 50% beneficiary (not huge, but a couple hundred thousand) has refused to participate.  Have hired help to locate.  Efforts are turning up nothing.

What is the best course of action? Deposit into the Court Registry? Give to the Department of Unclaimed Funds?  Do the Court Registry and then they move it to the Unclaimed Funds after a certain amount of time?

Never had anyone not want their money.
