Can you send a cashier's check for $1.00 and if no Receipt is returned
submit your Notice of Filing and Declaration of Completion and wait 30
days as Eric suggested?
If a cashier's check is not cashed after it expires (7 years or however
long the bank says), then the bank automatically sends the expired
cashiers check to unclaimed property. If you or the PR keep a copy of
the cashier's check so that you know the check #, etc. you can
periodically check with the bank to see if it has been cashed (if you
are curious.) Once the check expires and is sent to unclaimed property,
only the payee can apply to get it from unclaimed property. Before that,
the maker can ask to have it reissued (If beneficiary pops up and says
"here I am, I never got my $1.00.)
