Please take a moment if you can. So many in Spokane are hurting. Many
hands make for little work....consider giving if you can.

A message from our CEO

This week has been heartbreaking. So many in our community are reeling from
the loss of a home, struggling to find a safe place to stay during ongoing
evacuations, or navigating their next steps as resources stretch thin.

Amid this crisis, the Spokane community has stepped up with incredible
compassion, resiliency, and generosity. Across our region and entire
nation, *more than 2,500 donors have come together to contribute $2.8
million dollars* to the Spokane Complex Wildfire Response Fund to bring our
neighbors relief.

As we begin distributions from the fund, every dollar awarded moves through
a vetted community partner. In the near term, dollars help cover urgent
needs experienced by displaced individuals and families like food,
transportation, emergency shelter, clothing, and more. As the community
moves from response into rebuilding, the majority of funding shifts toward
long-term recovery — things like clean-up and rebuilding. This effort will
span years, and Innovia will continue to support community needs as a part
of our mission and service to the region. Information about how the funds
are being distributed to meet both immediate and long-term needs is
available on Innovia’s *wildfire response landing page.*

Funds raised through Innovia are an important part of the community
response. The Foundation is able to facilitate large numbers of small
community donations, providing residents with a way to pool resources for
impact. However, we know the recovery effort will be massive and will
require hundreds of millions of dollars from government, nonprofit, and
private sources.

As we do our part to maximize the impact of every dollar donated over the
days, months, and years of recovery ahead, we have compiled key information
about Innovia’s wildfire response efforts, outlined in the key facts and
FAQs linked below. This information is also posted to the Foundation’s

*100% of donations support wildfire response and recovery.*

Individuals and families receive support from our vetted nonprofit
partners who have experience providing direct services to our community.
These organizations use the money for the urgent needs of those who are
displaced or otherwise affected. Longer term, the funds shift to recovery
activities like clean up and rebuilding. *Innovia does not take a fee on
   any donations to this fund.*

   -

*Innovia is Eastern Washington and North Idaho’s community foundation.
This means all the funds stay local.*

Community foundations are unique. We are here for the long-term and we
work to support the community after the immediate crisis is over and public
attention wanes. All funds raised here stay here. We make grants to
organizations that provide a wide range of services including rent and
utility support, emergency shelter, food, clothing, home repairs, and home
   rebuilding.

   -

*Innovia has expertise in supporting communities through fire disasters
and a track record of results.*

We have activated funds for wildfire disasters in our region since 2020,
including the Gray and Oregon Road fires. Grants have gone to organizations
like Re*Imagine Medical Lake and the Spokane Region Long Term Recovery
Group. *You can see all the grants made from the 2023 fires at *

As our region begins the long journey of recovery ahead, we are grateful
for your support of community through Innovia. As so many in our community
are hurting, your generous partnership is bringing relief and hope. Please
continue sharing your time, talent, or resources in the weeks and months of
need and recovery ahead.

With gratitude,
