This was posted on the Solo and Small Practice listserve by one of its
members. I thought I would share. I also know Camp Chevrolet in Spokane
is collecting items -
*To help our neighbors in and around Spokane*, here are some trusted places
to donate:
- On Aug 2, *The Spokesman-Review*
<https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2026/aug/02/city-of-spokane-creates-portal-to-organize-donatio/>
reported
that the city of Spokane created an online portal accepting donations
through the city's H.O.M.E Starts Here fund, which traditionally supports
individuals experiencing homelessness but has been established with
flexibility to respond to urgent needs during times of crisis. Donations
made through the fund will be directed to wildfire relief efforts:
my.spokanecity.org/donate
<https://my.spokanecity.org/endinghomelessness/donations>.
- Innovia Foundation is taking donations to help nonprofits and other
organizations helping fire victims at innovia.org/wildfire-response.
- The American Red Cross operates a Greater Inland Northwest Chapter
<https://www.redcross.org/local/washington/about-us/locations/greater-inland-northwest.html>
to
facilitate disaster relief.
- Second Harvest is accepting nonperishable food donations and they also
accept financial donations <https://2-harvest.org/>. Northwest Harvest
<https://www.northwestharvest.org/> also operates statewide and has a
Spokane-based distribution center.
*Statewide information and resources: *
- The state has a list of local organizations accepting donation
<https://governor.wa.gov/news-media/washington-wildfire-resources>s (as
well as resources and information for people seeking disaster assistance).
- The Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation and the Yakima
Nation are also accepting donations

for
folks who have been impacted by the Kaiser Canyon and Signal Peak fires.
