[WSBAPT] General Support Trust or Irrevocable Trust

I have a client whose mother wishes to establish a trust for her
granddaughter. The grandmother intends to gift funds to the trust, with the
granddaughter to receive the final distribution upon reaching the age of
30. The grandmother prefers her son, who is my client and the
granddaughter's father, to serve as the trustee instead of creating an
irrevocable trust herself.

I would be grateful for the opportunity to discuss the pros and cons of
utilizing a General Support Trust compared to an Irrevocable Trust in this
particular situation. Gaining a clearer understanding of how each option
would impact estate planning and gift-giving would be immensely beneficial.
