Subject: [WSBAPT] THANK YOU - 1,300+ attorneys re-took their oaths
Yesterday was Law Day. Here in Washington over 1,300+ attorneys gathered online and in person around the state. From several locations in Seattle, to Olympia to Spokane, Yakima, and the Tri-Cities.
Attorneys from all backgrounds and practice areas stood up, raised their right hand, and took the oath.
This follows the first ever Bar Leaders Summit that took place last Friday, April 25th where more than 60 leaders from county bar associations, affinity bar associations, and other voluntary bars gathered at the WSBA offices to discuss how we can work together in a synergistic way to lift us all up.
This will now be followed by the over 1,500 WSBA members who have signed up for the Ambassador Program training that is happening on Tuesday May 6th. I take this moment of pride, as I am at the Board of Governors meeting right now on behalf of our section, that these activities and programs were ideas that I came up with while riding around the state with the WSBA Executive Director and Chief Communication Officer where we heard the comments from a WSBA member and what they felt was missing.
Yes, the WSBA is not perfect. Yes, it takes time to bring things from concept to reality - but I am amazed that something that started off as a conversation in a minivan driving between Kennewick and Moses Lake - has now come to life.
Thank you to everyone who has participated in these programs this past week.
