[WSBAPT] probate and bankruptcy

Good afternoon,

I have a probate where the only thing keeping it open is the possibility that the decedent will receive a third distribution from the bankruptcy of a large company. The bankruptcy is going on 3 years. Decedent died almost 2 years ago now. I know nothing about bankruptcy, so I'm wondering whether/when it's safe to assume no further distributions will be made. The last distribution was in the name of the decedent, and the company could not/would not reissue the check in the name of the surviving spouse. Frankly, it was lucky that we hadn't closed the account just before the check arrived - we were supposed to but for my vacation plans and the PR/surviving spouse's vacation plans. Has anyone been in this situation?

Thanks,
Anna Van Pelt
