All you King County practitioners-just FYI, if you haven't discovered this aspect of the latest budget cuts and the impact on Ex Parte-
I had a hearing back on 2/21 and the Commissioner took it under advisement. The order was entered on 3/6, but I didn't receive any notification and didn't get a copy of the order. I just discovered it by checking the docket today.
When I checked with Ex Parte, they confirmed that "The court no longer has the capacity to email courtesy copies of signed orders (with the exception of orders that grant protection). Signed orders may be downloaded through the KC Script portal."
I am not complaining about Ex Parte here. Just alerting everyone that it looks like, if a decision is under advisement after an ex parte hearing, we'll have to check the docket daily to see if an order has been entered, and can't expect to be notified.
[Insert complaint about budget cuts, impact on court operations, etc., etc.]
Sincerely,
Eric
