Brent,
Regardless of what the cover letter says, if the Notice to Creditors was enclosed, then I would argue that creditor is on notice for all debts alleged to be owed by the decedent. I'm not aware of anything in the statute (Ch. 11.40 RCW) requiring you to reference an account number. The debts were clearly incurred while the decedent was alive, so I don't see how their delay in invoicing requires you to reissue them a Notice to Creditors.
Best,
Nick

Subject: [WSBAPT] Multiple Account Creditor Claims - same facility
Greetings Wise Ones -
I am seeing an uptick in multiple claims coming from creditors. Today the burr in my saddle is Virginia Mason. Decedent had been ill, cancer. Long time treatment, eventual passing in mid-April.
We did the notice to creditors but Virinia Mason has at least FIVE different account numbers for this same decedent, including one that just came in via USPS to the Executor.
First question - if known creditor letters were sent to Virginia Mason for Accounts A, B, C, X, and Y......are they still entitled for actual notice for Account Z when they haven't bothered to send a single invoice until now?
I have always been extremely conservative advising my clients that it is better to send a known creditor letter referencing all known accounts.
I was looking for authority that was specifically on point and came up short.
Curious to know what you do when it comes to Known Creditor notices.
