[WSBAPT] Using a WA Small Estate Affidavit at an out-of-state bank

Hi all,

I'm assisting with the administration of a small probate estate — a single bank account at Chase that easily fits under the $100k limit for using a Small Estate Affidavit to claim. Unfortunately my client is not in good health and would like to name a family member in a Power of Attorney allowing the person to take the Small Estate Affidavit to their local bank branch.

I have successfully done this with a different PR at a different Washington State bank. The wrinkle here is that the person my client wants to name as her agent is located in Florida. Any thoughts on how easy or difficult it would be to go through this process at a Florida Chase branch? Should I just have my client name me instead so I can do the legwork locally?

Thanks for your insights,
Sara
