To me, that is a meaningless provision. In any event, you have nine months from one of the events set out in RCW 11.86.031 to disclaim assets. I assume you will sit town with client’s financial advisor, CPA and decide with, if any, asset you will disclaim, which I assume will go into a disclaimer/credit trust.

Subject: [WSBAPT] Disclaimer in Trust Document

I am doing my first Trust Administration from a Trust prepared by the folks at We The People, P.S. in Lakewood, WA. I could really use some help understanding this particular paragraph:

11.6 - Preparation of Documents. The Trustors acknowledge that We the People, P.S. have prepared this trust according to the instructions of the Trustors, and have given the Trustors legal advice relating to this Trust. However, Trustors further acknowledge that neither We the People, P.S. nor any employee or agent of We The People, P.S. are financial or estate planning advisors and have not given the Trustors financial planning or estate planning advice.

I am trying not to be dense but what is this actually saying? Feels a lot like double talk - we gave you legal advice to create a trust (an estate planning document) but we didn't give you any estate planning advice. WHAT?

Appreciate any help that can make sense of this paragraph.
