Subject: [WSBAPT] Humboldt County, CA elder exploitation referral
Looking for Rio Dell, Humboldt County, CA referral-
PC called who lives in WA, but her dad is in CA.  Apparently “a friend from the bar” where Dad goes has moved in with him (and her boyfriend!) and they are “caring” for him.  As it turns out, it appears that lady and boyfriend have added themselves to the title of dad’s home and have access to his retirement accounts because his CPA in CA called daughter over concerns with huge withdrawals being made from dad’s investments.  CPA is saying that because of the withdrawals, dad is going to owe over $100,000 in taxes for 2024.
Need a referral for WA daughter.  She has called police; adult protective services; etc. and everyone says dad reports that he “is fine and in love with her” but he cannot tell the police the “friend from the bar’s” name.  Meanwhile he is apparently being exploited as a vulnerable adult.
