[WSBAPT] TIAA Refusing to Provide Information

I had similar issues with TIAA in an estate I handled a couple years ago (my dear mother).  My handsome twin brother handled the TIAA part of it.  It was very frustrating, but I recall he had to work his way up the chain of command before he found someone who realized that not everyone has a PR and letters testamentary.

I am having issues getting date of death information from TIAA. Deceased had a funded RLT and beneficiaries listed on all other accounts. Trustee of RLT will be filing the estate tax return. TIAA is refusing to provide date of death statements and values unless the trustee provides letters testamentary or letters of administration.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Am I missing something, or is there a workaround for TIAA's request?
