Thank you Hans. My confusion is with RCW 11.96A.100(4). It talks about the court clerk setting the hearing date and time, on application of the party but then says “no order of the court shall be required to fix the time or to approve the form or content of the notice of a hearing.” Seems to me the petition, with supporting declarations, and a note for hearing should work.

Technically, you don’t need a summons – you’re starting an action incident to the probate and the PR is already a party. You do need a petition/initial hearing.
