[WSBAPT] Rate for PR administration time

The courts have always agreed with me when litigated that $50.00/hour for tasks which involve meeting with attorneys, going to the bank, dealing with insurance, and CPAs, things of that nature are reasonable.
However, if you could hire someone at minimum wage in the county the Estate is open, then those tasks such as taking items to the dump or goodwill, mowing the yard, cleaning houses, etc., those should be billed at closer to the min. wage in the county.

That's what we have been advising for the last couple of years and have never had a problem with the courts here in Thurston County approving it or received opposition as to the actual hourly rate from attorneys representing other heirs in that same probate usually the issue isn't the hourly rate but whether the amount of time that was spent was reasonable

I think we are trending more towards $50/hr for basic tasks. Of course, it always depends upon the dynamics of the estate.

Colleagues,

I like to check in every now and then to see what folks are advising clients as far as a "reasonable rate" for time spent administering an estate.  Historically, I've advised that up to $30/hr was reasonable for basic tasks and up to $50/hr was reasonable for more advanced tasks (taxes, meeting with an attorney, etc.).  Is this in line with what you advise?
