Consider possibly doing the following:

  1. Figure out who the officers and directors are (were).
  2. Find the governing documents.
  3. Reactivate the corporate status.
  4. Those steps will likely help you decide what to do next.

Subject: [WSBAPT] SOS!

Person forms OR charity in the 80’s – let’s it dissolve administratively in 2004; had it registered as a WA charity as well and also administratively dissolved. Continued to operate housing for less fortunate (said real property in name of charity). Person dies recently – Daughter goes to collect and we discover charitable status. My thought is I have to get the AG of both states involve and more than likely that real estate and the checking account tied to it will be required to be paid out to like charities but honestly that’s my best guess.

I am considering asking the court to appoint my client to represent the charity and have access to funds because a lot of work was done by a family member (who anticipated receiving the property or income in part) before we found out the charitable status – also we have a potential buyer and there will be fees for that process.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts -
