[WSBAPT] Creditor Claim Period - Successor PR

Colleagues,

I know this has been addressed in prior emails and I apologize for the duplication.  I have been asked to represent a successor personal representative in an estate where the initial personal representative just passed away.  There was very little work left to complete the probate when the initial personal representative passed away.  The family (understandably) wants to wrap it up ASAP.  The initial personal representative published the Notice to Creditors back in November 2022.  The creditor claim period expired long ago.  There were no creditor claims filed.  I know I need to petition the court and notify the heirs of the new appointment – no questions there.  My question involves the creditor claim period.  I need to publish a notice to creditors of vacancy and succession of personal representative (because it’s been less than 24 months since the decedent passed away).  The vacancy and succession of personal representative in this circumstance (where the creditor claim period expired long before the initial personal representative passed away and there were no creditor claims filed) shouldn’t extend the creditor claim period, right?  If the publication of notice to creditors of vacancy and succession elicits a new creditor’s claim, I want to be sure I can reject it as untimely.
