[WSBAPT] Request for referral/resources - guardianship/conservatorship attorney - medical evaluator

Listmates,

I have clients who were recently appointed as co-guardians/conservators of their mother in King County.  My clients are having a difficult time trying to communicate with their mother, who can't understand what they are doing and why; she's dealing with what appears to be dementia.  No attorney was appointed for their mother when my clients filed their petition, and the parent didn't want to pay for an attorney to fight the petition according to what she told the Visitor.

Now that they have been appointed, my clients would like to offer the parent a list of several attorneys near the mother's location (Woodinville) who might be willing to talk with the mother about her concerns regarding the guardianship conservatorship and, if necessary, represent her in the matter.

We also need to locate a psychologist/psychiatrist/social worker, etc. to perform a mental health/capacity evaluation for the mother.  It may be difficult to take her anywhere, so such an evaluation preferably would be done in the mother's home.

Any suggestions you might have, including self-referrals, will be passed on.  Email me off-list if you would like more details.
