When this happens to me, I engage an investigator to get a last known address.
I then tell the court in my petition, I have engaged an investigator but believe that the person is homeless with no permanent address.
The court usually takes me at my word and appoints with no actual notice to the person and with the promise to continue to look for them.

Listmates:

I never had to worry about this before, but now its come a knockin.  Father dies intestate.  No wife but three children.  One child has lived on the streets, for a long time, with no known address (physical or mail).  No contact with the other siblings.  How does one notify this person of the pending probate?
