Michael,

You should disclose the existence of the minor to the Court, but likely no GAL required if it is all community property. It is not one of the situations where appointing a GAL is mandatory, even if the surviving spouse is requesting nonintervention powers, as the Court is required to grant in those circumstances, as long as the minor child is a child of the surviving spouse as well.
