You need to send it in (stapled or not, they’ll remove staples) with the Case Indexing Cover Sheet and payment (yes, $20). No case caption on the Will itself.

Should the original will be stapled? And do I put a case caption on the cover sheet or does the Clerk do that? Is the fee $20?

Thanks!

Yes. I’m still sending one or two a month at least, and it is the old fashioned way, with a CICS, check and the will with a return envelope for conformed copy and receipt.

Need to file a Will in King County, for permanent record only so I don’t have a case number yet, the way I would if I e-filed a petition first. How is this done these days? Do I send via messenger with a check and a case indexing and case assignment area designation, just like in the “old days” pre-pandemic?

Sincerely,

Eric
