Shannon,

My understanding is yes, but you will need a resident agent in Washington.  However, there are considerable income and other tax issues regarding withholding, reporting, and Canadian taxes, with having a non-US resident in charge of US assets and accounts.  (You mention "given he is in Canada").  If that is the case, it would be best to have a US resident appointed.

Listmates, Can an heir with Canadian citizenship only serve as Administrator of a WA intestate estate? I assume he might have to post a bond which could be problematic given he is in Canada, but RCW 11.36 doesn't appear to disqualify him - Shannon
