Greeting List Members -

As many of you know, I am presently the 8th CD Governor for the WSBA Board
of Governors. (official email for those activities are brentwr.bog at gmail.com)
but when I see posts that I can investigate into further, I do.

First, I am sorry to hear about the scheduling issues that is happening
with the King County Courts and Clerk's Office. I reached out to the
Clerk's office to ask what is going on - not as to get any excuse but to
truly get the word out to everyone who is working.

In short -they are swamped and overwhelmed. Between the "end" of the
pandemic and the releasing of various moratoriums, the change in the
Guardianship/Conservatorship law has caused a massive tidal wave of
hearings. In fact, there are FIFTEEN (15) open positions in the clerks
office at this very moment that is causing part of the problem.

Bottom line from my conversation - this is going to be an issue for a
while. Be extra vigilant when scheduling and verify verify verify.

The Courts are in a perfect storm right now and sadly, I will not be
surprised to see more of the posts like we did from Elanor, Dalynne,
Michael, et al.

I wish I had been able to get a work around, an absolute solution - but I
also did not want to sit back and not share what I had learned.

Hoping everyone is having (or had) a great weekend.

Brent
