[WSBAPT] Power of Attorney and release of client documents

Generally speaking, can a Power of Attorney request copies of an individuals legal file (not just estate plans).  By way of example, could an Agent request the legal file of their Principal in say an employment law matter?  I have been adding to my engagement letters that we can release information to Agents (a recent add I should say) and am curious what other's may be doing.....
