Thanks, Nick.  I found what I believe to be the dissolution case and will call the clerk’s office tomorrow.  Fingers crossed the decree speaks to the estate plan (though it looks as though this was a DIY dissolution).  Sigh.

Take a look at RCW 11.12.051 and 11.07.010. The latter has the references to disposition via trust be ineffective. Also consult the terms of the trust itself. Surprising that the divorce decree would not have resolved this.
To locate the divorce decree, I would start with the Washington Courts person search https://dw.courts.wa.gov/index.cfm?fa=home.namesearch&terms=accept&flashform=0
You could also check Odyssey for most counties other than King and Pierce, although the free version of Odyssey search is offline. JIS-link is another way to do a statewide search, also requires payment.
If they got divorced in a different state, then you might need to hire a private investigator to locate the records.

Colleagues,

What is the effect of a dissolution on a Revocable Living Trust?  I would think the RLT would be revoked upon dissolution of the co-trustee spouses but cannot find any statutory authority.  Also, how does one go about locating dissolution records where the county of the dissolution is unknown?
