[WSBAPT] dealing with IRS

We can usually get a transcript if client signs an F2848, I call the Practitioner Priority Line, ask the agent for their fax number, fax in the F2848 with Letters Testamentary while on the line with the Agent, Agent processes the F2848 and then delivers the transcripts to my secure IRS box. Note that you'll need a CAF number to do that.
I'm wondering if there is any quicker way to just check if the decedent owed any back taxes, but I think I have my answer...

I am having the same issue - estates which have filed amended tax returns from 2018 waiting over 2 years now.  No response whatsoever from IRS but continued delayed.  BUT, IRS has no problem adding penalties and interest due to their own delays.

Colleagues, is anybody having any success in getting responses from the IRS on tax records for their probates? I have a couple estates that have been hung up now for 6+ months because I can't close until the PR can confirm that decedent's past tax returns for recent years were properly filed. My accountant(s) have been unable to get the IRS to respond to requests for transcripts or for copies of returns.

Does anyone have suggestions, or any way to get the IRS to respond that has worked in the last year?
