Are you planning to open an intestate estate? Or has an estate already been opened?
I gather that you have not found a subsequent will.

Hello all,

I am wondering if anyone has researched this issue or has any experience to share:

What, if any, legal/ ethical obligations does an attorney representing a surviving spouse or PR have to provide a copy of an old will (15+ year old will, original cannot be located, not sure whether or not this is the last will either) to the court when administrating the decedent's estate? Especially if the survivor states that they intended to revoke those wills and had several conversations surrounding them. This is not a blended family, however, the outcome/distribution could differ from intestacy.

Thank you so much,
